We're thrilled to be featured in this excellent Epicurious article on the best practices for storing mushrooms. Our very own Matt Nevitt, owner of Wild Foragers, lent his expertise on refrigerating mushrooms as close to freezing as possible without actually freezing. The article covers critical advice from Matt and other mushroom aficionados on washing, freezing, and cooking with mushrooms to keep them fresh. Though it features tips from various mushroom suppliers and chefs, we're particularly proud that Matt was able to contribute his wisdom to this important guide. Head over to Epicurious to read the full story on storing, freezing, and cooking with fresh mushrooms!
Wild Foragers was recently featured in Washington Coast Magazine, in an article entitled Foraging The Great Coastal Forests. This article details a wilderness adventure with expert foraging guide Matt Nevitt and his guests Chef Kenneth Booth (of Busu) and author Michael Wagar. Some of the highlights include a journey to a secret mushroom hunting location to find prized wild Porcini mushrooms near Matt's hometown of Raymond, Washington along Willapa Bay as well as a glimpse into the philosophy, background, and origins of Wild Foragers, a company that prides itself on bringing the freshest and most unique wild foraged ingredients to the top Chefs and restaurants of Seattle and Portland and the Coastal areas around Washington and Oregon in the heart of the Pacific Northwest.
